Discovery Set - Tsu Lange Yor

Tsu Lange Yor, Yiddish for "To Long Years" and if we are referring to just the fragrances themselves (the house also makes designer homewares and hone scents) I suspect I will be loving this for many long years ahead. The brainchild of Troye Sivan and some exciting perfumers make for a discovery set that are polar opposites of each other, but all equally incredible in their own right.

I am quite obsessed with Australian ingredients and scents. This set covers Australian Sandalwood, native Tasmanian mountain pepper, and Australian Buddawood. Lean more on these natives, TLY - I'm hoping there are more to add to the collection in the near future.

Let's get into it

Pool

This was the reason why I bought the set. Visions of hot Australian summers on the concrete tarmac at the local pool, sunscreen, ice cream, chlorine, salty chips. If a perfume was to ever evoke memories of my teenage-hood it could be this.

What a beautiful fragrance. I didn't immediately want to put my cozzie on, but it does pull strong summer vibes from the hippocampus.

This has very strong gourmand accords, but fresh, green, and sweet. Gourmands in my experience immediately lean towards vanilla and biscuit-y, marshmallow-y notes - this couldn't be farther from that. TLY Pool is summer in a bottle. I wish the tomato and capsicum would come through more on my skin

The first day I wore this, I won't deny I was overwhelmed by the end of the day. The longevity of this is outstanding.

Luca

Goddamn, this is a sexy fragrance. It was the last of the set for me to try because, on the first spritz, I didn't think it was for me but lordy this is beautiful. You know I have a thing about ubiquitous sandalwood now, it's the Aussie native that is just mild and creamy and I'm happy to say the moss hangs around longer than expected.

I would say of the three, Luca definitely leans more masculine but for a gender-neutral winter fragrance, this is exceptional.

TYL 5755

Wow. This is so beautifully strange and it’s not even why I bought the set: my one and only intention was to try Pool but this. This is really, really interesting.

Given that pepper is literally sprinkled through a couple of layers here, I'm catching it but just so slight. That Cashmeran and Amyris are like licking a spoon of the best quality creamy butter. It does come down powdery, which I personally try and avoid at all costs but this is soft and classy. Classy and strange. The woody and ambroxan linger is just stunning, a little smoky.

It's a very polarising fragrance with an extreme love or hate slider and no ‘meh’ in between. Big Team Love here. I definitely would recommend the 2ml first.

Full Bottle Upgrade: I would buy all of these, for different reasons. But I'd start with TLY 5755
